CLT-001: Purified Stem Cells

What is CLT-001?

Cellerant's CLT-001 product consists of highly purified hematopoietic (blood-forming) adult stem cells isolated from donors or patients undergoing stem cell transplants. CLT-001 is designed to provide an improved outcome when used for stem cell transplant indications where its high level of purity is desired or required.

Why is Purification Important?

Stem cell transplants use graft material from either bone marrow or, increasingly, mobilized peripheral blood. This graft material contains about only about 1-5% stem and progenitor cells. The rest of the cells can include mature blood cells (including immune cells such as T-cells), bone cells, bone marrow cells, and sometimes cancer cells, especially where patients donate to themselves before undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.

Cellerant's CLT-001 product contains only stem and progenitor cells, with no detectable contaminating cells such as tumor cells or the T-cells which cause graft-versus-host disease in donor-to-patient transplants.
